Matt Wilhelmi is Director, Special Situations at Kreshmore Group, where he supports complex corporate turnaround and restructuring engagements along with M&A and capital markets transactions. He also leads the firm's emerging organizational analysis and human capital diligence practice, helping deal teams understand how leadership capability and organizational strain affect enterprise value.
Prior to joining Kreshmore, Matt spent more than 15 years as a fractional CFO, restructuring advisor, and management consultant to middle market companies. Through his firm, Strategic Voyages Business Consultants, he has conducted roughly 5,000 business owner interviews and supported approximately 40 buy-side diligence engagements, with work spanning distressed debt analysis, lender negotiations, capital structuring, and preparing owners for sale. He is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Trajectory Enterprise, an organizational diagnostic platform, and the author of Taboo Business Questions.
Matt pairs that financial background with formal training in industrial-organizational psychology. He assesses leadership teams, measures workplace pressure, and quantifies organizational strain in terms of Revenue at Risk, then integrates those findings into restructuring strategy, diligence, and value creation plans. His research connects organizational behavior to the leading indicators of stronger exit multiples.
Matt earned an M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he teaches Business Law, Industrial Psychology, and Statistics and is pursuing his doctorate. He holds a B.S. in Business Management and Leadership from Judson University.
